Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been another warm and windy day across the South Plains with highs back in the low 70’s. This warm day will end quickly though with our next cold front expected to slide into the region this afternoon. Cloud cover will increase quickly with temperatures expected to plummet into the 20’s throughout the day on Wednesday. We are also watching for our next chance of precipitation to arrive early tomorrow morning and continue on and off throughout the day on Wednesday and again on Thursday morning. Due to the fact that we are expecting freezing temperatures throughout this time frame, we are expecting a mix of freezing rain, sleet, snow, and liquid rain so please drive with caution. Also remember to bring your pets and potted plants indoors and make sure to turn your sprinklers off to prevent a multitude of issues on the roadways. Temperatures will slowly climb throughout the remainder of the work week back into the upper 60’s with sunshine and windy conditions returning by Saturday.
