Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been another warm day across the South Plains with highs sitting back in the low 70’s. Unlike yesterday, cloud cover took over the region today. Late tonight into early tomorrow morning we will see a few isolated showers move across the area and then the remainder of the day will be very similar to this afternoon with highs back in the low 70’s and cloudy conditions. However, we will also see very windy conditions with blowing dust possible throughout the day. That means it is imperative to be cautious while burning of any kind and to dispose of cigarettes properly. Then beginning on Thursday, sunshine will return and we will see a drastic cool down with highs dropping into the lower 50’s on Thursday afternoon and then into the mid to upper 40’s on Friday. Lows will also drop, dipping into the low 30’s on Thursday morning and will then plummet back into the teens on Friday so it’s important to bring your pets and potted plants indoors and turn your sprinklers off starting on Wednesday night. Over the weekend, temperatures will slowly move back above average and cloud cover will be on the increase and we will see rain chances re-emerge on Sunday.
