Happy Wednesday everyone! We have another warm day across the South Plains with windy and dusty conditions throughout the day. This is all brought on by the low pressure system that is tracking north of our region. Sadly, these windy conditions will stick around for another day because behind this low is a very strong cold front that will arrive this evening. Please be cautious when barbecuing on tonight and tomorrow and make sure to dispose of cigarettes appropriately to prevent fires from starting. Not only will this front allow these windy conditions to stick around, but it will also drop temperatures from the upper 60’s and low 70’s into the upper 40’s, increase cloud cover, and allow for a small precipitation chance tonight through Thursday morning. Freezing temperatures will thankfully stay at bay until Friday morning. Friday afternoon we will see sunshine return with temperatures rebounding back into the upper 50’s and low 60’s, but this warm up will be short-lived as our next cold front slides in just in time for the weekend, dropping temperatures yet again.
