January 11th, 2018 Evening Weather

Happy Thursday everyone! After a warm start to the work week, temperatures have plummeted back below average today following the passage of yesterday’s cold front. Tomorrow we will see a brief rebound in temperatures with highs moving back into the low 60’s. This will be exceptionally brief though as Northwesterly flow becomes established and allows for cold air to seep back into the South Plains over the weekend and through the middle of next week. Our first cool down will be on Saturday with highs dropping into the mid-40’s. The second drop will come next Tuesday with highs dropping into the upper 30’s. However, throughout the next seven days we are expecting freezing temperatures every morning which means that it is imperative to bring pets and potted plants indoors and to ensure that sprinklers are turned off to prevent a multitude of issues on the roadways. The other detail of the forecast to note is that despite the many temperatures fluctuations headed our way, we will continue to see abundant sunshine and mild winds.
