Happy Monday everyone! Today was one of those West Texas weather days where everything changed with the snap of a finger. We began with sunshine and mild temperatures, transitioned to high winds that brought us blowing dust, and ended with overcast and cold conditions. This was all brought to us by the cold front that raced across the region throughout mid-day. While we are expected to stay dry for the most part, there is still a chance for isolated pockets of drizzle/flurries in some areas through tomorrow morning. Tomorrow will be a downright cold day with lows in the mid-teens and highs barely reaching the freezing mark. Cloud cover will be dense to start out but we will see a slow clearing throughout the day. Throughout the remainder of the week, we will see a very slow warming trend with highs actually reaching back into the 70’s by Friday. Despite this trend, we will still see freezing temperatures through Friday morning so make sure to bring pets and potted plants indoors and to ensure that sprinklers are turned off to prevent a multitude of issues on the roadways. Saturday will be a beautiful, sunny, and warm day across the South Plains but we have another strong front headed our way on Saturday night through Sunday morning which will bring more wind and another cool down.
