January 1st, 2018 Evening Weather

Happy Monday and Happy New Year everyone! After a very chilly, overcast, and snowy end to 2017, the sun has reemerged just in time for the start of the new year. Unfortunately, the cold air mass that is planted over our region will stick around for another day. Tonight will be another exceptionally cold time frame with wind chills expected to drop back into the negative digits. This means it is imperative to keep your pets and potted plants indoors and to turn sprinklers off to prevent a multitude of issues on the roadways. Also, make sure to wear layers because these cold temperatures can be dangerous to your health. High temperatures on your Tuesday will linger right around the freezing mark, but we have a quick warm up throughout the remainder of the work week. Sunshine will be abundant with just a few fluctuations in cloud cover throughout the week. The mild weather streak will end as we move into the second week of January and our next cold front transverses the region so make sure to stay tuned for updates!
