Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been another beautiful and sunny day across the South Plains with highs jumping into the upper 60’s and low 70’s. Winds also ramped up this afternoon to the 25-40 MPH range. The Fire Weather Watch will continue until 7PM this evening and will be reissued on Wednesday from 11AM to 7PM. Please be cautious with flammable objects like cigarettes – make sure to dispose of them properly, and if you barbecue make sure to monitor closely to prevent any fires from starting. Temperatures will move into the upper 70’s and low 80’s tomorrow, but this warm up will be short-lived as our next cold front will slide across the region late Wednesday night into Thursday. This will drop our temperatures back to average in the upper 20’s (lows) and mid-50’s (highs). Sunshine will remain abundant despite the cool down. Temperatures will rebound quickly over the first half of the Super Bowl weekend, but we are watching for another front to move across the region Saturday evening bringing our next temperature drop and an isolated chance for showers.
