Happy Tuesday everyone! We have had quite the warm day across the South Plains with ample sunshine throughout the day. Tomorrow conditions will be very similar with one very noticeable change – winds will ramp up to speeds of 50+MPH, bringing blowing dust and fire weather danger for your Wednesday. This is all brought on by the low pressure system that is tracking north of our region. Be cautious when barbecuing on Wednesday and Thursday and make sure to dispose of cigarettes appropriately to prevent fires from starting. Then behind this low is a very strong cold front that will drop temperatures from the upper 60’s and low 70’s into the low 50’s, increase cloud cover, and allow for a small precipitation chance on Thursday. Freezing temperatures will thankfully stay at bay until Friday morning. Friday afternoon we will see sunshine return with temperatures rebounding back into the low 60’s, but this warm up will be short-lived as our next cold front slides in just in time for the weekend, dropping temperatures yet again.
