Happy Wednesday everyone! The broken record continues to spin with highs back in the low to mid-90’s and abundant sunshine yet again today. This will remain the case for the rest of the work week with more dry conditions in the forecast. That means that it is important to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, don’t forget about your pets – if the pavement is too hot for you to walk on barefoot, then it is too hot for them as well. Then beginning over the weekend, the ridge will continue to weaken and a low pressure system will track across the South Plains. This will allow northwest flow will return to the region pulling monsoonal moisture into the area, bringing for an isolated chance for storms and a minor drop in temperatures starting as early as Saturday. This will continue through Monday so keep your umbrellas handy.
