Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been another sunny and hot day across the South Plains with high temperatures moving back into the triple digits. High pressure will continue to dictate the forecast for the next four days bringing abundant sunshine and causing temperatures to remain in the triple digit range with some locations surpassing 105 degrees. That means it is imperative to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours! Make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated throughout the day. Also, try to avoid strenuous activities during peak temperature times to avoid heat-related illnesses. It is not until Monday evening that we will see our next cold front push into the region. This front will drop our temperatures back to average on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week and it will bring us our next chance for some showers and thunderstorms starting Monday evening and continuing through Wednesday.
