Happy FINALLY Friday everyone! It has been yet another sunny and hot day across the South Plains with high temperatures sitting back into the triple digits. The National Weather Service has issued another Heat Advisory for the region that will go until 9PM this evening. This means that temperatures will reach as high as 105-112 degrees. Therefore, it is imperative to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours! Make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated throughout the day. Also, try to avoid strenuous activities during peak temperature times to avoid heat-related illnesses. The triple digit heat will stick around through Sunday and then thankfully on Monday evening our next cold front will push into the region. This front will drop our temperatures back to average on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week and it will bring us our next chance for some showers and thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday.
