Happy Wednesday everyone! Temperatures slowly started to heat back up this afternoon, reaching back into the low to mid-90’s. This will remain the case on Thursday as well but by Thursday evening, we are watching for our next cold front to arrive. This will bring us another chance for some showers and thunderstorms Thursday night through early Friday morning. By Friday afternoon we will see a mix of sun and clouds with another round of below average temperatures in the upper 80’s and low 90’s. This will be very short-lived though as high pressure takes over and temperatures rebound back into the mid to upper 90’s by Saturday afternoon. Conditions are expected to remain sunny and hot throughout much of the weekend but we are waiting for yet another front to arrive Sunday evening bringing another cool down and more rain chances for the South Plains. Finally, despite our cooler and cloudy forecast, it is still important to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours! And don’t forget to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated throughout the day.
