Happy Thursday everyone! After an almost two week dry spell, we FINALLY got to see some much needed rainfall with some locations in the South Plains receiving precipitation totals over 1.50 inches. This is all due to the cold front that slid into our region late last night. Along with the rainfall, it brought another drop in temperatures with highs struggling to reach into the low 90’s. These cloudy, cooler and rainy conditions will stick around for the rest of this evening and into tomorrow morning. Friday afternoon, rain chances will slowly diminish and the sun will make its return. This will allow temperatures to rebound quickly back into the upper 90’s and triple digits over the weekend. Thankfully, we have another system headed our way bringing more rain chances on Sunday and Monday and a drastic cool down into the low 80’s for the start of next week! Finally, despite our cooler and cloudy forecast, it is still important to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours! And don’t forget to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated throughout the day.
