Happy Tuesday everyone! It has been a beautiful and sunny start to the day with highs back in the low 90’s. Tonight will remain clear, but by early tomorrow morning we are watching for our next cold front to slide across the region bringing us some much needed rain and keeping our temperatures around average. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the Central and Eastern South Plains under the Marginal Risk Category for strong to severe storms. Biggest threats will be strong wind gusts and moderate to large hail so make sure to stay weather aware! Storm chances will continue on and off on Thursday and Friday with temperatures remaining in the low 90’s through Thursday afternoon. Temperatures will jump quickly back into the upper 90’s and the triple digits beginning on Friday through the start of next week with abundant sunshine in the forecast. That means that it is still important to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated, and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours. Also, make sure to bring your pets inside during those peak heating hours and keep them hydrated throughout the day. Then on Monday night we watch for another front to arrive bringing more rain chances and another drop in temperatures.
