June 5th, 2019 Evening Weather

Happy Wednesday everyone! It has been another beautiful start to the day with abundant sunshine and temperatures sitting back in the low to mid-80′s. Just like yesterday, we will watch for another round of strong to severe storms to form and move across the South Plains bringing the risk of large hail and damaging wind gusts through early tomorrow morning. The Storm Prediction Center has placed us under the Slight Risk Category so it is important to stay weather aware, bring your pets inside and cover your vehicles. Storm chances will begin mid-afternoon and will continue into early Thursday morning, but thankfully the severity will decrease by tomorrow. Temperatures will have an opposite trend, increasing throughout the week, moving back into the mid-90′s by Saturday. Sunshine will return Thursday afternoon and will stick around all weekend so make sure to wear sunscreen, stay hydrated and take breaks indoors during peak heating hours!
