Happy Tuesday everyone! We have had another beautiful, sunny, and warm day across the South Plains with highs sitting right around average in the upper 80’s. However, late this afternoon and this evening we will watch for our next chance for precipitation that will continue on and off throughout the remainder of the work week. The Storm Prediction Center has placed our New Mexico counties (Curry, Roosevelt, and Lea counties) under the Slight Risk Category today. The biggest threats with these storms are damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours which will cause localized flooding and low visibility. Make sure to drive with caution and remember to turn around, don’t drown. Temperatures will continue their upward climb moving back into the 90’s as early as Friday and then near the triple digit mark by Saturday.
