June 8th, 2017 Evening Weather

Happy Thursday everyone! It has been another beautiful, sunny, and warm day across the South Plains with highs remaining right around average in the upper 80’s and low 90’s. Late this afternoon and this evening we will watch for yet another chance for precipitation. The Storm Prediction Center has placed the majority of the South Plains under the Marginal Risk Category today. The biggest threats with these storms are damaging wind gusts and heavy downpours which will cause localized flooding and low visibility. Make sure to drive with caution and remember to turn around, don’t drown. Temperatures will really start to bump up tomorrow with highs moving back into the mid-90’s and some folks approaching the triple digits over the weekend.
