The end of the first week of the new year is going to be a warm one. Thankfully, we will only see wind at 5-10 mph this afternoon. The clouds we saw yesterday are gone and that will give way to sunny conditions. So, with that and wind flow from the south, Lubbock is going to see a high temperature reaching 60°. The average high is 53°, so we’re heading up above average again today.
Overnight, we’ll see clear skies and light wind. That is the perfect recipe for a cold start to the weekend. We’re actually going to land on the average low for tomorrow. That is 26°. Lows will be closer to 15°-19° off to the west and northwest. The rest of the day is going to see more sunshine and warm conditions. We’ll see a high temperature of 59° here in Lubbock. So, not as warm as Friday, but it will still remain above average.
