It’s another quiet morning on the Llano Estacado today. We’re entering this Tuesday with clear skies and light wind. That is allowing for temperatures to drop down into the mid and upper 30s to the north and mid 40s for most of the rest of the region. The thin clouds that are skirting the southern counties will be gone by sunrise. The afternoon will be sunny and warmer, with a high of 73°. Wind will be 10-15 mph today.
Overnight, expect to see more clouds returning in larger numbers than this morning. So, with the clouds and wind staying at 10-15 mph, we will be starting off Wednesday with a low of only 50° here in Lubbock. Tomorrow afternoon will see the boost of very warm air returning. We’ll have wind at 15-25 mph, so the fire danger is high. We’ll climb up to a high temperature of 88°.
