Skies are partly cloudy as moisture is returning to the area. Things will stay dry today, as high temperatures will be near average. We’re watching as a low pressure system will make its way to the northeast tomorrow from northwest Mexico. This will bring in big changes for a few days. This afternoon will be mostly sunny and breezy. Lubbock will get to a high temperature of 75°. That is only one degree above the average for today.
Clouds increase overnight and we’ll start Wednesday out with overcast skies. As the low pressure system gets closer to west Texas, it will pull in moisture from the Gulf of Mexico. After 1:00 pm tomorrow, we’ll see scattered showers and thunderstorms in the area. Coverage will increase through the evening and overnight hours. By 5:00 pm tomorrow, we’re looking at 60% getting showers and storms. Watch out for heavy rain and flooding. The high will only be 64°.
