It was great to see the rain across the area on Wednesday. We all really needed it! In fact, Lubbock saw a daily rainfall record set for April 12! We ended up with .79″ of rain just on Wednesday! We added an additional .02″ overnight. So, our total over the last 24 hours is .81″! We will take take that. Today will see showers pushing off to the east. Otherwise, skies will be cloudy, with a high temperature in Lubbock of 70°. If we see sunshine, like yesterday, we’ll see a higher temperature.
Expect partly sunny skies in the area for Good Friday. The sunshine that will sneak in between the clouds will be enough to bring in warmer air, which will allow for highs to get up above average. The wind is going to be from the south at 15-20 mph, with gusts to 30 mph at times. Expect Lubbock to see a high temperature of 77°. There will be isolated storms either side of the state line tomorrow. So, coverage will only be 10%.
