There’s nothing too scary for this Friday the 13th, except for the wind and fire danger that will be extending through the weekend. We’re going to continue to see sunny skies today. The wind is going to be stronger than what we saw on Thursday. It will be sustained at 30-40 mph, with gusts to 55 mph this afternoon. We’ll have more blowing dust and dirt. The high in Lubbock will only be 68°.
A cold front will move through the area this evening. It will shift the wind to the north, but it will stay at 10-20 mph overnight. With the colder air filtering down from the north, the low temperature will drop to 35°. It will feel more like the low 20s tomorrow morning. The afternoon is going to remain sunny and dry. Wind will be sustained at 15-25 mph, gusting to 40 mph at times. The high will be 62°, feeling like the low 50s.
