We will continue to watch more clouds roll in across the region today. That is ahead of a cold front and dry line, which will bring showers and thunderstorms this afternoon. Expect to see high temperatures well below average this afternoon, especially with any storms. Coverage of those storms today will be 40%, after 2:00 pm. The potential for hail producers will be west of Lubbock, from 5:00 pm-8:00 pm. We’ll only see a high temperature of 65° for Lubbock today. Wind will be at 15-25 mph.
Overnight, showers and storms will increase in coverage to 50%, from midnight-6:00 am. After 6:00 am, the bulk of the showers will move east of the area. So, coverage will only be 20% and staying east and northeast of Lubbock. Otherwise, we’ll see mostly sunny skies, with a high temperature of 68°. The wind on Saturday will be at 10-15 mph from the north behind the cold front.
