There were rain showers last night that tried to touch our far eastern counties, but they did not amount to anything. This morning, we’re seeing thin clouds racing along to the southeast of Lubbock. Otherwise, it’s calm out there. This afternoon will see more sunshine, but cooler air and less wind. The wind will only be at 5-10 mph today. We will expect the high temperature to make it up to 75°.

Overnight, there will be more clear skies, but warmer air. The wind will be from the south, so the low temperature is only going to drop to 50°. Wind will only increase slightly by Saturday afternoon. It will be sustained at 10-15 mph. A surge of warmer air from the south and southeast is going to get Lubbock up to a high temperature of 81°. It will be a good day to get outside, even with the wind at 10-15 mph out there.
