We’re seeing leftover showers moving through the northern counties this morning. The storms were stronger in the panhandle several hours ago, but are losing steam in the northern row. They will continue to move slowly to the southeast and will not impact Lubbock. The afternoon is looking to turn mostly sunny, with warmer and drier air. We’ll make it up to a high temperature of 90°.

Tomorrow will get the full affect of warm and dry air. We’ll actually feel more like we should for the first full week of August. The morning will see lows dropping to the upper 60s, which is nice. However, the afternoon will continue to see mostly sunny skies, with higher temperatures. In fact, Lubbock will get to a high of 91°, which is just below the average high.
