We made it to the end of the week and it is still cold out there! There were some very light rain showers in the northern counties last night. The only location that measured precipitation was Friona, with .01″. The rest of that activity did not reach the ground because it has been too dry. Expect to see more sunshine and average highs this afternoon. It will feel very similar to what we had on Thursday. Lubbock will make it up to a high temperature of 54° with wind at 10-15 mph.

Overnight, we will not see the air as cold as we’re seeing this morning. Friona and Muleshoe are already down into the upper teens. The wind will be at 5-10 mph from the southwest, so the low will only get to 30° here in Lubbock. We’re going to remain near average area-wide on Saturday. Skies will be mostly sunny, with wind on the rise to 20-25 mph in the afternoon. Gusts will easily reach 40 mph at times. Our high will just get above average in Lubbock, as we get to 57°.
