Expect this morning to see clouds coming on in from the west. We’re trying to get some light snow flurries to reach the ground. However, the dry air is dominating today, so it will be hard pressed to see these actually reach the ground. We will see mostly sunny skies this afternoon, with wind at 10-15 mph. The high temperature is going to make it up to 52°. That is below average, but higher than what we saw on Sunday. Today will be day 96 since we’ve last seen measurable precipitation in Lubbock.
Overnight, we’ll see things begin to clear on out. There will be passing clouds at times, but skies will be mostly clear. Wind will drop down to 5-10 mph. The low is going to be 25°. After the cold start, with mostly sunny skies expected, we’re going to see high temperatures reach the average on Tuesday. Lubbock will make it right to 59°, which is right where we should be. That light wind will help it get there and not cause any issues. The air will be dry, so tomorrow will be day 97 since the measurable precipitation in Lubbock.
