Well, we finally saw measurable rain on Friday after 99 days of dry conditions. We officially came in with .03″ on Friday, with another .15″ on Saturday morning. So, the total precipitation in Lubbock was .18″. That is all we have received in 2018. The deficit is now at .95″ for the year, which will be closer to 1.00″ after today. We’re going to see partly sunny skies this afternoon, with a high temperature of 75°. The wind is going to be the big problem. It will be sustained at 20-30 mph, with gusts to 50 mph at times. So, we’ll get more blowing dust and dirt out there.
Overnight, skies will be partly cloudy. The air is going to stay relatively warm, with low temperatures only in the mid 40s. Wind tonight will stay at 10-15 mph. As we go through the say Tuesday, skies will clear off and sunny conditions will take over. We’ll get another warm day, with Lubbock getting to a high temperature of 70°. Wind will stay at 10-15 mph, so it will not be as bad as what we’ll see today.
