We are getting some freezing drizzle in Lubbock and across the central counties as we start this Thursday. This is actually giving us very slick conditions on bridges and overpasses. Travel should be used with caution. The overpasses on the loop are very slick and will stay that way until we get above freezing. That will be sometime near 10:00 am. Clouds will clear and we’ll get mostly sunny skies this afternoon. The high temperature will get up to 53° with light wind.
Overnight will not be as cold as what we are seeing this morning. Expect partly cloudy skies, with light wind and a low of 33°. So we’ll start the day above freezing with no travel issues. Tomorrow will be a good end to the week with mostly sunny skies and warmer air. The wind will increase to 10-15 mph out of the south-southeast. Friday’s high will make it up to 63° which is two degrees above average.
