Clouds are still overtaking west Texas as we start this Wednesday morning. There have even been some rain showers reaching the ground, with Snyder getting .02″ of rain and Jayton .03″ so far. That activity is moving to the northeast and will wind down shortly. The rest of the day will focus its concern on wind. Sustained wind will be at 20-30 mph, gusting 40-50 mph this afternoon. So, watch for more blowing dust and dirt. Lubbock will make it to a high temperature of 70°.

Overnight, wind will remain at 10-15 mph. The disturbance that brought in the clouds and wind will be departing to the northeast. So, on the backside of the system, we’ll see temperatures dropping near freezing in the morning. We’ll start the day at 34°. Clouds will clear in the morning and we’ll have a sunny afternoon. Wind will only be at 5-10 mph, with a high of 63°.
