There are actually a few things going on so far for this Thursday. We’re obviously still getting strong wind. The current gusts are reaching more than 40 mph here in Lubbock. This is all ahead of a cold front that will drop temperatures before sunrise. We’re also seeing cloudy skies and light rain along the state line. Behind the front, we’ll see a mix of clouds and sun, with a high temperature making it to 50° this afternoon.

Overnight, we’ll get clearing skies, with the wind dropping down to 10 mph. So, with that said, it is going to get very cold again Friday morning. We’ll see a low temperature of 23° here in Lubbock. Lows will be closer to 14°-19° to the west and northwest. Wind chill values will be in the single digits. However, we’ll rebound in the afternoon with sunny skies and 10-15 mph wind. The high is going to get back above average, reaching 63° here in Lubbock.
