All things considered, we’re seeing a warm start to the day. Lubbock is in at 40° right now. We’ll see that temperature drop a few degrees before sunrise. We are getting clear skies and a good look at the full moon, too. The clear skies will hang around again today as we will remain dry. That means that today is day 83 since we’ve seen measurable precipitation here in Lubbock. This afternoon, the wind will be sustained at 20-25 mph, gusting to 40 mph. Watch for blowing dust and dirt. The high will make it to 70°.
Skies will remain clear overnight and the wind will stay at 10-15 mph, as well. That will keep the low temperature in check. We will only drop down to 39° by morning. The wind will be at 15-20 mph tomorrow, as we get more warm air flowing into the region. Lubbock is going to reach a high temperature of 79°. There will be some 80° readings off the Caprock.
