More typical summer time weather expected for this afternoon. That has really been the story this week with that high pressure system in place. This morning is showing some thin clouds and that is really all. The afternoon will see sunny skies, with dry conditions. Expect a high temperature of 96° in Lubbock today. The Rolling Plains will see highs near 100°.
Overnight, the wind is going to remain at 10-15 mph across the area. So, that will help to keep temperatures above average through sunrise tomorrow. We’ll see a low of 73° in Lubbock, but with dry air, it will feel cooler. Saturday afternoon will be mostly sunny and dry. Highs will come down a few degrees, as Lubbock will make it up to 95°. We’re still see a high near 99°-100° in the Rolling Plains.
