We’re starting off the day with passing clouds from leftover showers and thunderstorms. These will continue to move to the south and southeast through sunrise. This afternoon is looking mostly sunny, with a high of 95°. There will be scattered showers and thunderstorms once again after 5:00 pm. So, have your rain gear and watch for lightning as you head out to celebrate the birthday of the United States. Have a place to go when lightning strikes, somewhere indoors!
Thunderstorms will push out of the area by early tomorrow morning. There will be partly cloudy skies and warm air ti kick off the day. Expect lows to drop only down into the low 70s. Tomorrow afternoon is going to look very similar to the last few days. Skies will be mostly sunny and the air will remain warm. Lubbock will make it up to a high temperature of 93°. There will be isolated thunderstorms at 20%, generally after 4:00 pm.
