We are seeing clearing skies, which has been different than the last several mornings where we’ve talked about clouds and rain. A ridge of high pressure is going to build right over us by this afternoon. That will shift the wind flow in the mid and upper levels to the northeast. This means we’ll see more dry air come into the South Plains. So, this afternoon will be sunny and average, as we get to a high temperature of 93°. The wind will, once again, be light at only 5-10 mph.

Moving into Friday, things won’t really be changing all that much. The morning will begin with mainly clear skies and lows in the upper 60s. So, it will be very similar to what we’re seeing this morning. The afternoon will be sunny and dry. The wind will be staying at 5-10 mph. Lubbock will see a high temperature of 95°. That is just two degrees above the average. So, remember to use the sunscreen if you want to be outside tomorrow!
