So, we’re still seeing the clouds flowing into the region to start the day. This is the only sign of the moisture at this point. Lubbock has not seen any rain just yet. The activity yesterday just didn’t move enough to the north. Expect much of the same for today. There will be scattered thunderstorms in the area, generally after 5:00 pm. Coverage will be 30%, only because they will be scattered. There will be heavy rain with any storm that we do see. Not a complete washout, though. Lubbock will see a high of 80°.
I am not going to rule out thunderstorms in the area overnight. However, don’t be surprised if you see exactly what happened last night where we miss out. The only thing different will be the low pressure system. It’s going to be closer to west Texas overnight and into tomorrow. That means more moisture will be available and more lift. So, we’ll see scattered storms through 7:00 am tomorrow.
