After seeing eight straight triple digit days, we finally caught a break yesterday. Highs were only in the mid 80s, which felt fantastic. Today will be seeing the clouds clear this afternoon and mostly sunny skies prevail. Lubbock will be looking at a high temperature of 86°. That’s five degrees below average. The wind will be light and the air dry, so it will be a great day to get outside, even for a Monday!
We’re going to see wall-to-wall sunshine on Tuesday as much warmer air returns to the South and Rolling Plains. The morning will be pleasant, as we begin the day at 68°. But, with that sunshine in the afternoon, we’re quickly going to warm up. Expect highs in the mid 90s tomorrow, with Lubbock making it to 96°. Locations in the Rolling Plains will be seeing highs close to 100°.
