We had a complex of showers and storms roll through part of the area last night. That was enough to drop .50″ of rain in Muleshoe and .20″ here in Lubbock. It’s always great to see the rain, but we’re still in a deficit for the month and year. This afternoon will dry out very quickly. We’re going to have mostly sunny skies and much warmer air. Lubbock is going to see a high temperature of 101°. Wind will remain light.
Overnight, we’ll see another round of isolated storms push through the area. The coverage is not going to be as great as it was last night. It’s only looking like 10%, but at least some spots will get more rain. The more likely locations will be west of Lubbock. Friday will get a cold front passing through in the morning hours. This won’t affect temperatures too much, as we will still get to 93°. There will be isolated storms in the afternoon at 10%.
