Skies are looking clear to begin this Thursday across the South Plains. We’re trying to get some light showers in the eastern Rolling Plains, but if the rain is reaching the ground, it’s staying very light. The rest of us will get used to see the clear skies this afternoon, with wind at 10-15 mph. Lubbock will see its tenth triple digit day this year, as we make it up to 102° for the high. So, be sure to stay safe while out in the heat this afternoon.
Overnight, expect another calm one out there. Skies will be clear and the air will stay warm, thanks to wind remaining at 10-15 mph. We’ll only drop down to 73° by tomorrow morning. A weak cool front will pass through by lunch time tomorrow. That will keep us in two digits for highs, however, it’s still going to be very warm. Lubbock is going to see a high temperature of 97° on Friday.
