We’re looking at clear skies and more quiet weather to kick off this week. The low pressure system that was responsible for the showers and storms last week and over the weekend as moved on to the east. We’re on the backside of that now, which means more sunshine and dry conditions. The clouds will be very minimal today, so the UV outlook is looking to be very high. With sunny skies and light wind, Lubbock will reach a high temperature of 89° this afternoon. Wind will only be at 5-10 mph.

We return to mostly sunny skies for Tuesday, but the wind will remain light. So, it should be a good day to enjoy the outdoors. Highs are looking to be just below average for Lubbock. We should be at 89°, but we will make it to 87° tomorrow. Any thunderstorms that develop will be in eastern New Mexico. They will struggle to make it any farther east, due to the amount of dry air in the atmosphere.
