It has been a busy few days across west Texas. It was so nice to see the rain on Sunday night and into Monday morning. Lubbock officially had .76″, but we did see several locations across the county with more than an inch. We really need more rain, but the story shifts to more hot weather in the forecast. This afternoon will see sunny skies with light wind. The high is going to get to 100°. I can’t rule out a few storms off the Caprock at 10%.
Overnight, expect to see clear skies and calm weather. We will see wind staying at 5-10 mph, with the dry line moving back west. That means it will be a muggy start to Wednesday. The low will be 70°. We will see sunny skies and more dry air on Wednesday, as the dry line will push well east of the area. So, Lubbock will get to a high temperature of 102°, with 10-15 mph wind trying to help us out.
