The low pressure system that has been anchored in portions of the southwest will slowly move to the east this afternoon. That will help to bring in more moisture to west Texas. So, once again, showers and thunderstorms will be in the area. Today, it’s looking like storms will begin by 5:00 pm and last through about 10:00-11:00 pm tonight. So the rain will be here earlier than the last several nights. Lubbock will see a high of 83° today. There will be leftover showers and a few storms tomorrow morning, through early afternoon. Dry air will build in tomorrow evening and will last through the weekend. Tomorrow will see the high temperature reach 79°.
