There were some thunderstorms that got going yesterday afternoon over in eastern New Mexico. The hit a wall of dry air along the state line and fizzled out before crossing over into Texas. expect much of the same today. In fact, we’ll see the clouds be blown over this way from those storms in New Mexico. So, we’ll have mostly sunny skies this afternoon, with a high temperature in Lubbock of 88°. The wind will remain light. Remember to use that sunscreen and stay safe outdoors.
By tomorrow, there will be more clouds than sunshine for most of the area. That will help to keep high temperatures below average. Lubbock is going to make it up to 86°. The wind will stay light, at 5-10 mph. There will be another round of isolated storms in the area in the afternoon hours. This time, the storms will make it across the state line. However, coverage is only going to be 10%. So, especially if you live west of Lubbock, have an umbrella in the car, just to be safe.
