We’re going to see a few rounds of thunderstorms throughout the day today. By early afternooon, expect the first wave to move through with some gusty wind and small hail. The main severe threat is looking to be between 8:00-11:00 pm tonight. Closer to 8:00 pm, a squall line will approach the state line. This will quickly move east and affect Lubbock between 9:00-10:00 pm. This will exit the area to the east by midnight. Strong wind to 80 mph will be the main issue. We’ll also see some hail up to quarter size and a brief tornado can’t be ruled out, especially in the southwestern counties.
