The low pressure system that brought in the wind, clouds and light rain on Monday is moving to the northeast today. However, a cold front will be working its way down into the northern counties by sunrise. We’re also going to have wind from the southeast today, bringing in Gulf moisture. So, the moisture and the cold front will help to bring in more scattered showers and thunderstorms today. Coverage will be 30% and these storms will be off and on through tomorrow afternoon. We’ll see a high of 64° with cloudy skies.

Expect more scattered showers and thunderstorms overnight, especially between 1:00-7:00 am. There will be periods of heavy rain with any storm that impacts a community. We’ll start Wednesday at 40° with cloudy skies. The rest of the day will see the thunderstorms shift east by early afternoon and clear the region by 4:00 pm. Skies will begin to clear after that. Coverage of storms will be 30%. Lubbock will see a high of 65°.
