Skies are clear and the air is warm as we begin this Thursday across the South and Rolling Plains. Temperatures managed to drop down into the low 50s for our northwestern counties for lows today. There were even readings in the upper 60s in the southeast. So, quite the contrast in the area. This afternoon is going to see tons of sunshine and very warm air. Lubbock is going to hit 99° for the high. Triple digits in the Rolling Plains.

We’re only going to start the day tomorrow at 65° here in Lubbock. The wind will be at 10-15 mph throughout the the day, so that will try to help us out. It’s going to be another very warm one out there under this ridge of high pressure. We’re going to reach a high temperature of 97° for Lubbock. Expect more triple digit heat off the Caprock on Friday afternoon. If you’re going to be outdoors, take caution and apply, then reapply sunscreen and stay hydrated.
