We’re already seeing our first cold front move across the area early on this Thursday. That is the reason for the thunderstorms that started near Slaton and raced to the east. Dry air is building in behind this cold front and that will be the story for today. We will see a fire danger since Lubbock did not see rain, which was expected. The forecast was dry for Lubbock and that is the end result. This afternoon will see sunny skies and 10-15 mph, with a high reaching 84°.

Overnight, we will expect to see clear skies and wind hovering around 10 mph. The low temperature will actually get barely below average, as it will drop down to 51°. The rest of the day Friday will see cooler and dry air behind a Canadian front that comes in tonight and will clear the area early tomorrow morning. So, tomorrow afternoon will see sunny skies, with a high temperature making it to 77°. Wind will be at 10-15 mph.
