Showers tried to make it into the area last night. However, they ran into a whole lot of dry air and did not make it to the ground. We’re watching the clouds from those defunct showers sticking around the region this morning. Skies are looking to be mostly sunny this afternoon. Once again, we’ll see light wind, only at 5-10 mph, which is nice. The warm and dry air will stay for today, as Lubbock will reach a high temperature of 88°. The UV Outlook will be 4/5 today. So be sure to stay safe in the sun.

Overnight, clouds will begin to increase and we’ll see a mix of clouds and sunshine on Wednesday. You’ll notice more moisture in the air, as well. There will actually be plenty of that. So, we’re looking at scattered showers and thunderstorms at 30%, generally in the late afternoon and evening. Highs will be lower tomorrow, as Lubbock will make it up to 76°. Wind will remain light, except in those thunderstorms. Watch for heavy rain and flooding.
