As expected, we barely saw a few showers reach the ground to the northeast of Lubbock. Only Tulia (.02″) and Floydada (.07″) managed to report measurable precipitation. That has really been the story since way back in mid-October. This afternoon will see any clouds that hung around on Tuesday disappear and the sunshine will dominate the area. The wind will drop to 10-15 mph, with the higher end gusts to 25 mph. Lubbock will get to a high of 95° today.
Overnight, we will get a few passing clouds to return to west Texas, but that is really all. The wind will hang around 10 mph, as well. So low temperatures will stay up above average. Lubbock will begin the day Thursday with a low of 66°. The rest of the day is going to see mostly sunny skies, with 20-25 mph wind and a high temperature of 96°. Wind will gust to 35 mph at times.
