We’re now a week away from Thanksgiving and it certainly will not feel like it out there. The clouds that we are seeing out there this morning will lessen this afternoon. So, we will be looking at mostly sunny skies. The wind is going to be coming in from the west-southwest which will pump in warm and dry air. Sustained wind will be at 10-15 mph, with occasional gusts to 25 mph. Lubbock can expect to see a high temperature of 71°.

The temperature roller coaster will be getting a huge boost on Friday, with wind from the west-southwest at 20-25 mph all day long. So, the air will still be warm and dry, with new record highs being set for parts of the area. The record high in Lubbock is 85°, set in 1966. Well, we are now forecast to reach a high temperature of 86° tomorrow afternoon. So, we’ll break that record ahead of a stronger cold front Friday night, into Saturday morning.
